Tronc Income

Tronc income is an income which is mainly used in the service industry where employees earn money in addition to their basic by way of tips, gratuities, or service charge. This is paid as part of your income rather than being given out as cash which is often the case in the service industry.

How do mortgage lenders treat Tronc Income?

Some UK mortgage lenders will consider tronc income as part of affordability calculations. Treatment varies by lender: while some may use a percentage, others may accept up to 100% of tronc income, where it is regular, paid via payroll and evidenced over time.

If you work in the service or hospitality industry and receive tronc as part of your employed income, we have experience placing cases with lenders who are familiar with this type of income.

Acceptance is subject to individual circumstances, lender criteria and full affordability assessment.
